closure of bricks and mortar shop.
Old Tupton Ware is a beautifully hand crafted and hand painted collection of ceramic Objet 'arts.
This vibrantly coloured piece designed by Jeanne Mcdougall (ex moorcroft) has a busy pattern
which includes every aspect of the garden. Hand painted and finished, the garden shed,
tools and cold frame, cockerel and scarecrow, vegetables, strawberries and sunflowers
are all depicted, the design fully encircling the vase.
A stand alone piece or a very ornamental vase
Various processes are used to create these highly desirable ceramics, including several kiln
firings made to achieve the wonderful colours which will never fade. The tube lining process
is used by the world-famous range of Moorcroft ceramics. Each stage is extremely labour intensive
but finally produces the rich and intense colours of the many patterns now held in the range.
